Socks as lens covers?

Another extract from a full article coming soon “11 odd items I use in Timelapse”-11 Socks:
It is so easy to start your day like this, neat and organized:

but most probably things will  get like this midday:

Personally i am not a fan of soft bags. and when it comes to the resin cases, especially those i use on field and not for storage, foam and padded dividers take a lot of valuable space.

and after a lot of movement with the lenses mounted and the hard cases open, and with the “usual-at-field-lenscaps-loss”, gear is so prone to scratch…To make  things shorter, i found that socks and especially cotton ones fulfill a great job in preventing clumsily stacked cameras from being scratched.Socks act both as lens cap and a pouch that protects the whole lens too…

Simple steps for making tough protection for your lens:

Choose a circular lid of material of your choice in which the front of ur lens fits comfortably, apply some decent glue

Reverse the sock and apply it on the glued lid

try to center the sock with the lid as much as possible

Put the sock this way and reverse it again, you can be very creative in padding the inside of the lid
